QHY695A Mono

The QHY695A combines a monochrome Sony ICX695 CCD, regulated cooling, a mechanical shutter and an integrated filter-wheel platform. Its 2758 × 2208 array has 4.54 µm pixels and 16-bit conversion for approximately six-megapixel imaging.

Sensitivity and readout

QHY’s exact-model manual specifies 79% peak QE, typical 4–5-electron read noise, 15–20 ke full well and approximately 0.3 electrons/ADU system gain. Supported binning is 1 × 1, 2 × 2 and 4 × 4, with exposures from 1 ms to 10,000 seconds.

Cooling, shutter and filter wheel

Two-stage TEC cooling is specified at a typical 40 °C below ambient. The butterfly mechanical shutter provides the manual’s stated uniform illumination. Published carousel configurations are seven unmounted 36 mm filters or eight 1.25-inch filters; use the configuration fitted to the actual camera.

Optical connection and body

The front body measures 155 × 155 mm, with 52.5 mm front-body depth excluding the rear cooling assembly. Weight is 1550 g.

Moisture and power consumption

A heated optical window and removable desiccant-tube connection provide moisture control. Use external 12 V DC; the manual requires at least 3.5 A and centre-positive polarity and lists an optional 12 V 6 A adapter. QHY specifies 8 W with cooling at 0%, 16.5 W at 50% and 27 W at 100%. The cooler should be ramped gradually, following the manual’s operating procedure.

Compatibility notes

Use the named-model manufacturer connection diagram and the backfocus reference for the selected adapter. Readout mode and output format affect frame rate, noise and full-well capacity.
