The ASI585MC Air combines a Sony IMX585 imaging sensor, a monochrome guide sensor and an ASIAIR controller in one aluminium housing. Dual-band Wi-Fi and onboard storage support an integrated astrophotography setup.

Imaging and guiding

The back-illuminated STARVIS 2 main sensor records 3840 × 2160 pixels with 2.9 µm pixels and a native 12-bit ADC. ZWO specifies zero amp glow. The separate SC2210_BW guide sensor records 1920 × 1080 pixels with 4 µm pixels.

Cooling and dew prevention

Two-stage TEC cooling achieves 30–35 °C below ambient in ZWO's 30 °C test conditions. A software-controlled 2.4 W heater protects the optical window from dew.

Storage and connections

Built-in 256 GB eMMC storage and 2 GB DDR4 memory accompany four USB 2.0 ports. Images can be exported using a USB drive or USB Type-C computer connection.

Power and optical spacing

Use 12 V DC with a 5.5 × 2.1 mm centre-positive connector. Connect only one power input. The M42 × 0.75 interface provides 12.5 mm backfocus, or 17.5 mm with the 5 mm tilt plate. Include adapters when calculating telescope or corrector spacing.
