PixelSkiesAstro is a family business – David, Adam, James and Michelle Wills – based in the north of Granada province, southern Spain. We are astrophotographers ourselves, and we run a remote telescope hosting facility: eleven fully automated observatories, about 4 km from Castilléjar, at roughly 850 m altitude, inside the Granada UNESCO Global Geopark.
Our story
Astrophotography has been our passion for many years. We came to rural Andalucía for its dark skies and built an observatory site so that others could image under them too. Today astronomers from all around the world – many different nationalities – operate their telescopes here remotely, while we live on site and look after the equipment day to day.

Most shops sell equipment. We use it, install it and keep it running – every night, all year.
- From a 135 mm lens to a PlaneWave CDK20 on an L-500. The rigs on our piers range from small, portable camera-lens setups to professional observatory systems, and everything in between.
- We know what works – and what doesn’t. Years of setting up, testing and fixing a wide range of telescopes, mounts, cameras and accessories in real remote operation means we can recommend combinations that work together reliably.
- Advice from experience, not from a catalogue. Tell us what you want to image and from where, and we’ll recommend equipment we know performs well together – matched to your targets and your budget.
- Specialist range. We focus on equipment for serious astrophotography and remote observatories, from leading brands such as PlaneWave, 10Micron, ZWO, Sky-Watcher, Celestron, TEC and Askar.
