The EQ8-series pier tripod provides a freestanding support for the EQ8-R and EQ8-RH mount heads.

Height and levelling

The EQ8-R family manual gives a tripod weight of 29.4 kg and an adjustable height of 800–1100 mm. Heavy-duty levelling pads allow the support to be levelled at the observing site.

Support selection

The tripod specification describes the support itself; the mount’s instrument capacity remains a separate limit. Use the correct mount interface and include the head, optical equipment and counterweights when assessing the complete installation.
